Shaker doors have been around for a long time, and there’s a reason they remain popular. These simple recessed panels work with so many different homes, from Hamptons and coastals through to more contemporary and transitional kitchens.
We’re seeing more slim-frame Shaker doors, with a narrower border and simpler proportions. Keep the detail, but pair it with a cleaner, more modern feel. If you like a kitchen with a bit of character but don’t want it to feel overly traditional, a slim Shaker is worth considering.
You can also change the personality of a Shaker kitchen quite dramatically with colour and handles. A soft neutral with brushed brass feels very different from a deep green with simple black hardware.
